In this role, Daryoush meets monthly with committee members and San Rafael police officers to review policies, discuss community concerns, and evaluate public safety initiatives. He regularly joins officers on ride-alongs, allowing him to see firsthand which neighborhoods and corridors are most vulnerable to crime and where resources can be most effective.

Daryoush also serves as a key advisor to the Chief of Police, providing community-informed recommendations such as the need for heightened surveillance and visibility around shopping centers and high-traffic areas. These insights help ensure that safety measures are proactive, not reactive.

In addition, Daryoush participates in interviews with prospective police officers, helping assess whether candidates demonstrate the values, professionalism, and community-first mindset expected by San Rafael residents. This role reinforces accountability from the very beginning of an officer’s career.

Beyond policy and oversight, Daryoush supported the adoption of drone technology to improve emergency response times and reduce risk to first responders. As he has noted publicly, this innovation allows police and fire personnel to assess dangerous situations more safely before entering them.

Workforce housing is one of the most pressing challenges facing San Rafael—and Daryoush Davidi has been a leading voice calling for practical solutions.

As a graduate of the San Rafael Leadership Institute, Daryoush was recognized for his class project focused on workforce housing, a topic he continues to advocate for through his role with the Chamber of Commerce.

Speaking in support of housing development projects, Daryoush highlighted the real-world consequences of San Rafael’s housing shortage:

“My own employees have to commute from places like Vallejo or other surrounding communities for an hour and a half just to come to Marin to work… after a while, attrition hits.”

He explained that even competitive wages cannot overcome the burden of long commutes, leading to workforce instability and business closures. His advocacy connects housing policy directly to economic resilience, reduced traffic, and stronger neighborhoods.

Daryoush’s approach reflects a City Council mindset: identifying systemic problems, listening to those affected, and supporting solutions that benefit both residents and the local economy.

Daryoush Davidi joined the Peacock Gap Homeowner Association board in 2021 with a simple goal: build a safer, more connected neighborhood for families.

After moving to Peacock Gap in 2017 to raise his family, Daryoush became deeply invested in strengthening community ties. He helped organize neighborhood block parties that brought residents together and fostered trust among neighbors. He also served as the HOA’s primary liaison to Fire House 55 and local public safety representatives, improving communication and preparedness across the district.

One of his most impactful initiatives was being involved in neighborhood “safety pods,” small cohorts of nearby residents who serve as emergency contacts for one another. This system ensures faster response, stronger accountability, and peace of mind—especially for families and older residents.

This hands-on approach reflects how Daryoush leads: locally, practically, and with people in mind.

Through his leadership at Kol Shofar Synagogue, Daryoush Davidi plays an important role in strengthening not just the Jewish community, but the broader fabric of San Rafael.

As a member of the Membership and Executive Committees, Daryoush helps welcome new congregants and ensures that members feel safe, supported, and included. His work focuses on cultivating spiritual growth, personal connection, and a strong sense of belonging—especially during times when Jewish communities nationwide are facing heightened concerns around antisemitism.

What makes Daryoush’s role especially impactful is his ability to bridge communities. In addition to his synagogue leadership, he serves on the City of San Rafael’s Police Advisory and Accountability Committee. This dual role allows him to foster open communication and trust between the Jewish community and local law enforcement.

By helping create partnerships grounded in transparency, mutual respect, and safety, Daryoush is contributing to a healthier, more resilient community—one that confronts hate not with fear, but with collaboration, preparedness, and unity.

Daryoush Davidi’s commitment to public safety extends beyond advocacy—he helps deliver real, life-saving resources.

As a board member of the San Rafael Fire Foundation, Daryoush helped support fundraising efforts that led to the acquisition of “Confidence,” a 27-foot aluminum fire rescue boat purchased in 2016 for $50,000 and donated to the San Rafael Fire Department. The need for this vessel became especially clear following the Canal neighborhood fire, where access by water could significantly improve emergency response.

The boat is a fully equipped Almar rig, outfitted with rescue and medical equipment and a fixed fire pump that draws water directly from the bay to fight shoreline and marine fires. Dry-docked at the San Rafael Yacht Harbor, Confidence was prepared for deployment to strengthen the city’s emergency response capabilities.

This investment enhances firefighter safety, improves response times, and expands San Rafael’s ability to protect lives and property—particularly in waterfront and densely populated areas.

Daryoush’s involvement reflects a leadership style rooted in action: identifying real needs, mobilizing community support, and ensuring first responders have the tools they need to protect San Rafael.

Daryoush Davidi also serves on the Board of Directors of Marin Forum, a membership organization that brings together accomplished professionals and top executives from across Marin County.

Marin Forum provides a space for leaders to exchange ideas, discuss shared challenges, and foster collaboration across industries. Through this work, Daryoush helps build bridges between business, civic, and community leaders—strengthening cooperation and shared problem-solving.
