My Priorities for a Stronger San Rafael
I love San Rafael and believe deeply in what our city can be. We have real challenges ahead, but also an opportunity to think bigger, plan smarter and get more done.
I’ve spent nearly two decades in business, and I know that good ideas are only the beginning. What matters is bringing the right people together, finding a way forward and following through.
SAFE AND PREPARED COMMUNITIES
Public safety starts with making sure our firefighters, paramedics and police officers have the people, tools and resources they need to serve our community well.
Keeping San Rafael safe also means preparing before an emergency happens. I want us to continue strengthening wildfire prevention, evacuation planning, vegetation management and neighborhood emergency preparedness while exploring new technology and partnerships that can help our first responders do their jobs more safely and effectively.
San Rafael has strong public safety departments. My goal is to build on that strength and make sure we are ready for what comes next.
ECONOMIC VITALITY
I want to see a thriving Downtown, strong local businesses and a San Rafael that continues to attract people, ideas and investment.
That means making it easier to do business in San Rafael, supporting our existing small businesses, making taxpayer dollars work harder, and investing in the arts, culture, restaurants, entertainment and public spaces that bring energy to our city.
As a San Rafael business owner, I know that good ideas are only the beginning. Execution matters. City Hall should be a partner in helping good ideas become reality.
INFRASTRUCTURE THAT GROWS WITH US
The decisions we make about our infrastructure today will shape San Rafael for decades.
That means investing in our roads, parks and public spaces, tackling traffic and transportation challenges, creating safer ways to walk and bike, and preparing our infrastructure for wildfire, sea-level rise, flooding and a changing climate.
We should plan ahead, pursue every available resource and invest wisely so we can address challenges before they become more costly problems.
FRESH IDEAS. REAL RESULTS.
Local government should always be willing to ask: Can we do this better?
I’ll bring that mindset to City Hall: looking for new partnerships, useful technology and creative ways to solve problems. I believe in taking smart risks, measuring results and being willing to adjust when there’s a better way forward.
That’s the approach I’ve taken in business, and it’s the approach I’ll bring to serving San Rafael.
